Detailed explanation-1: -It amends the Inter-State River Water Disputes Act, 1956. The Act provides for the adjudication of disputes relating to waters of inter-state rivers and river valleys. Under the Act, a state government may request the central government to refer an inter-state river dispute to a Tribunal for adjudication.
Detailed explanation-2: -In case of disputes relating to waters, Article 262 provides: Parliament may by law provide for the adjudication of any dispute or complaint with respect to the use, distribution or control of the waters of, or in, any inter-State river or river valley.
