Detailed explanation-1: -The Treaty of Seringapatam (also called Srirangapatinam), signed 18 March 1792, ended the Third Anglo-Mysore War . Its signatories included Lord Cornwallis on behalf of the British East India Company, representatives of the Nizam of Hyderabad and the Mahratta Empire, and Tipu Sultan, the ruler of Mysore.

Detailed explanation-2: -Lord Cornwallis formed a triple alliance against Tipu Sultan in 1790. The triple alliance consisted of the British, Nizam of Hyderabad and the Marathas.

Detailed explanation-3: -According to the treaty, Tippu Sultan was to give away half of his kingdom to the British. He had to pay three crore rupees as war compensation and also, give two of his children as a guarantee against the payment. Finally, he had to release prisoners of war.
