Detailed explanation-1: -It is said to have been mined in what is present-day Andhra Pradesh, while an account of Mughal Emperor Babur claimed that Allauddin Khilji stole it from the Indians in the 14th century. Eventually, the gem landed in the hands of Ranjit Singh in Lahore of present-day Pakistan.

Detailed explanation-2: -As per legends, Shah Jahan placed it near his window from where he could see the entire Taj Mahal, the resting place of his wife. The stone later came in the hands of Nader Shah in 1747, but after his dynasty ended, Ahmad Shah Durrani, who later became the Emir of Afghanistan acquired it.
