Detailed explanation-1: -The Bill was not referred to a Select Committee, with 117 members voting against referring the bill to a select committee, and 75 members voting for it. The Lok Sabha had passed the Right to Information (Amendment) Bill, 2019 on 22nd July.
Detailed explanation-2: -The 2019 amendment bill amended section 13 and section 16 of the RTI Act, 2005. fixed to 5 years or until the age of 65 years whichever is earlier.
