Detailed explanation-1: -The first appeal may be made within 30 days from the date of expiry of the prescribed period or from the receipt of communication from the CPIO. If the First Appellate Authority is satisfied that the appellant was prevented by sufficient cause from filing the appeal, the appeal may be admitted after 30 days also.
Detailed explanation-2: -Such an appeal, should be filed within a period of thirty days from the date on which the limit of 30 days of supply of information is expired or from the date on which the information or decision of the Public Information Officer is received.
Detailed explanation-3: -The Second Appeal must be filed within 90 days from the date on which the First Appellate Authority decision was actually received by the Appellant or within ninety days after expiry of 45 days of filing of First Appeal in cases where no reply has been received.
Detailed explanation-4: -The time limits prescribed under the Act for disposal of requests for information are as follows: 30 days: On receipt of a request for information, the PIO has either to provide information on payment of such fees as prescribed or reject the request with reasons for the same.

The registration number of original application has to be used for reference. As per RTI Act, no fee has to be paid for first appeal.
