Detailed explanation-1: -8. “Who receives applications under the ‘RTI Act, 2005‘?” (a) Public Information Officer at the administrative unit level.
Detailed explanation-2: -The Act extends to the whole of India except Jammu & Kashmir. It provides a very definite day for its commencement i.e. 120 days from enactment. It shall apply to Public Authorities. All citizens shall have the right to information, subject to provisions of the Act.
Detailed explanation-3: -Information under Section 4(1)(b) of the RTI Act, 2005 The norms set by the commission for the discharge of its functions. The rules, regulations, instructions, manuals and records held by the commission or under its control are used by its employees for discharging its functions.
Detailed explanation-4: -As per section 24 of the Right to Information Act, 2005, this Act shall not apply to the intelligence and security organizations specified in the Second Schedule, being organizations established by the Central Government or any information furnished by such organizations to that Government.
