EXPLANATIONS BELOW
Concept note-1: -The Union won the American Civil War. The war effectively ended in April 1865 when Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered his troops to Union General Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Court House in Virginia.
Concept note-2: -Fact #8: The North won the Civil War. After four years of conflict, the major Confederate armies surrendered to the United States in April of 1865 at Appomattox Court House and Bennett Place.
Concept note-3: -After an election in which a majority of your fellow workers voted for a union, the union will be certified by the Agricultural Labor Relations Board (ALRB) as the exclusive representative of the employees at your place of employment.
Concept note-4: -Large-scale industrialization, a much larger population, more capital, more resources, more military ships and weapons, and a better transportation network gave the North a huge advantage. At the time, the military outcome of the war was unknown and uncertain.
