Concept note-1: -In modern politics, liberty is understood as the state of being free within society from control or oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one’s way of life, behavior, or political views. In theology, liberty is freedom from the effects of “sin, spiritual servitude, [or] worldly ties".
Concept note-2: -As used in the Constitution, liberty means freedom from arbitrary and unreasonable restraint upon an individual. Freedom from restraint refers to more than just physical restraint, but also the freedom to act according to one’s own will.
Concept note-3: -liberty, a state of freedom, especially as opposed to political subjection, imprisonment, or slavery. Its two most generally recognized divisions are political and civil liberty.
Concept note-4: -Individuals have the right to engage in government through voting and holding public office, which is known as political liberty. Every citizen of India is guaranteed liberty by the Preamble of the Indian Constitution. The concept of liberty refers to the freedom that Indian citizens have in their daily lives.
