EXPLANATIONS BELOW

Concept note-1: -Grievance 1 "He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.” The Colonial assemblies passed various legislation, including ones on governing their slaves, creating colonial currencies, and requesting representatives to be sent to the British Parliament.

Concept note-2: -The three main themes of the colonists’ complaints are individual rights, representation, and taxation. Individual rights are rights guaranteed to people. Representation in the English Parliament was important to the colonists, and the colonists believed that taxation without representation was wrong.

Concept note-3: -To accomplish that, Jefferson and the Continental Congress compiled a laundry list of grievances-27 in total-meant to prove to the world that King George was a “tyrant” and a lawbreaker.
