The main idea of the text included two aspects, these were ____

(A) ** That the war must be won.

(B) That the war must be lost.

(C) That the dead should be buried.

(D) ** That the Union must be saved.

EXPLANATIONS BELOW

Concept note-1: -Lincoln vowed to preserve the Union even if it meant war. He eventually raised an army and navy of nearly three million Northern men to face a Southern army of more than two million soldiers.

Concept note-2: -Lincoln’s decision to fight rather than to let the Southern states secede was not based on his feelings towards slavery. Rather, he felt it was his sacred duty as President of the United States to preserve the Union at all costs.

Concept note-3: -All Members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the Purposes of the United Nations.
