Concept note-1: -The Battle of Gettysburg marked the turning point of the Civil War. With more than 50, 000 estimated casualties, the three-day engagement was the bloodiest single battle of the conflict.

Concept note-2: -5. The American Civil War. Of all the wars fought by Americans, it was the one that saw the nation literally torn apart that had the most significant casualties.
