SHERMANS MARCH TO THE SEA[SOURCES]
(A) ** They got their food from the land, taking food and crops from farmers along the way.
(B) They brought all of their food with them in long wagon trains of supplies.
(C) They hunted in the forest for food and foraged for berries.
(D) They didn’t have much food and nearly starved to death before they arrived at their destination.
Concept note-1: -Bread, roti, vegetables, dal, fruits, etc.
Concept note-2: -Beginning of farming and herding occur during the Mesolithic Period i.e. roughly from about 12000 years ago. There were changes in climatic conditions. There was adequate rainfall with better tools and harmonized climate conditions for farming. People no longer depended on hunting, fishing, and gathering.
Concept note-3: -Around 12, 000 years ago, hunter-gatherers made an incredible discovery. They dug up the ground, scattered a few wild grains, and learned how to farm. Farming meant that early humans could control their sources of food by growing plants and raising animals.
Concept note-4: -The first animal to be tamed was the wild dog. Later people started encouraging animals which were gentle with them. People also protected these animals from the attack of wild animals. In this way they became Herders.
