EXPLANATIONS BELOW
Concept note-1: -D-Moist Continental Mid-Latitude Climates Moist continental mid-latitude climates have warm to cool summers and cold winters. The location of these climates is poleward of the “C” climates. The average temperature of the warmest month is greater than 50° F (10° C ), while the coldest month is less than-22°F (-30°C).
Concept note-2: -one of five classifications of the Earth’s climates: tropical, dry, mild, continental, and polar.
Concept note-3: -The world absolute heat records, over 50 °C (122 °F), are generally in the hot deserts, where the heat potential can be the highest on the planet. This includes the record of 56.7 °C (134.1 °F) in Death Valley, which is currently considered the highest temperature recorded on Earth.
Concept note-4: -The two most important factors in the climate of an area are temperature and precipitation. The yearly average temperature of the area is obviously important, but the yearly range in temperature is also important. Some areas have a much larger range between highest and lowest temperature than other areas.
