EXPLANATIONS BELOW

Concept note-1: -The Emancipation Proclamation described enslaved people as “all persons held as slaves” and tells them to abstain from all violence (except in self-defense) and to labor for reasonable wages. The 13th Amendment describes ending “slavery or involuntary servitude, except as punishment for a crime."

Concept note-2: -What was the difference between the 13th Amendment and the Emancipation Proclamation? The Emancipation Proclamation freed slaves in confederacy only, not in the border states or the North. The 13th amendment was a law passed abolishing slavery throughout the US.

Concept note-3: -In conclusion, the Emancipation Proclamation is a positive law document based on President Lincoln’s philosophy of his executive powers as President of a torn nation, while the Declaration of Independence is a natural law document based on the morals and rights of the individual and state.
