Concept note-1: -Imperialism is a political doctrine in which a nation is dominated by the various powers of another superior nation. This domination can be achieved by military force or by other means like economic and cultural influence.

Concept note-2: -More specifically, Britain was the first country to industrialize, and became the most dominant country in the timeframe of the Age of Imperialism. In fact, Britain established colonies all over the world and had the largest empire during the Age of Imperialism.

Concept note-3: -They wanted to increase their political power and prestige. Every country was in competition with its rivals. You took territory – simply to prevent your rival from getting it! Every imperialist country was worried about its own national security: The competition among imperialist powers was vicious.

Concept note-4: -The most active European countries in terms of imperialism were Britain, France, and Germany. In the late 1800’s, economic, political, and religious motives prompted these nations to expand their influence over other regions, each with a goal to increase their power across the globe.

Concept note-5: -Colonialism is the act of power and domination of one nation, by acquiring or maintaining full or partial political control over another sovereign nation. The country or nation which comes under the control of another foreign nation, is known as a colony of that dominating country.
