Concept note-1: -Annexation is the process of bringing property into the City limits. It is one of the primary means by which cities grow. Cities annex territory to provide urbanizing areas with municipal services and to exercise regulatory authority necessary to protect public health and safety.

Concept note-2: -This refers to a unilateral act of a State through which it proclaims its sovereignty over the territory of another State. It usually involves the threat or use of force, as the annexing State usually occupies the territory in question in order to assert its sovereignty over it.

Concept note-3: -: to attach as an addition : append. : to add (a territory) to one’s own territory to form a larger country. the United States annexed Texas in 1845.

Concept note-4: -If a country annexes another country or an area of land, it seizes it and takes control of it.
