Concept note-1: -Imperialism = the extension of a nation’s power over other nations. Imperialist nations use their power to gain political, economic or social control over other parts of the world.

Concept note-2: -Imperialism is the extension of a nation’s power over other lands. Capitalist states in the west wanted to control directly their sources of raw materials and their markets. States wanted to gain an advantage over their rival states. Colonies were a source of national prestige.

Concept note-3: -Imperialism is when a country extends its power into other territories for economic or political gain. The goal of imperialism is to acquire resources, often through exploitation and force.

Concept note-4: -Imperialism can be defined as a doctrine, political strategy, practice, state policy, or advocacy that consists in extending power by territorial acquisition or by extending political and economic control outward over other areas.

Concept note-5: -Imperialism is the expansion of a nation’s authority over other nations through the acquisition of land and/or the imposition of economic and political domination.
