Concept note-1: -Imperialism is the state policy, practice, or advocacy of extending power and dominion, especially by direct territorial acquisition or by gaining political and economic control of other territories and peoples.
Concept note-2: -Imperialism. Imperialism occurs when a strong nation takes over a weaker nation or region and dominates its economic, political, or cultural life. This type of foreign policy was practiced by European nations and Japan throughout the 1800s and early 1900s.
Concept note-3: -A colony is the most direct form of control. In this form of imperialism, a powerful nation installs its own government and maintains direct control over other territories and regions.
Concept note-4: -The policy of imperialism is introduced by Portuguese Governor Afonso de Albuquerque. Portuguese Governor Afonso de Albuquerque is considered the real founder of Portuguese power. He was the first European of the Renaissance to raid the Persian Gulf.
