Concept note-1: -Germany was not the part of Allied powers in the First World War. On June 28’ 1919, the Treaty of Versailles concluded the war listed 27 “Allied and Associated powers”. Portugal and Japan were allied by the treaty of Britain and Italy were allied by the treaty of London on April 26’ 1915 with all the three powers.
Concept note-2: -The Axis powers (Germany, Italy, Japan) were opposed by the Allied Powers (led by Great Britain, the United States, and the Soviet Union). Five other nations joined the Axis during World War II: Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Croatia.
Concept note-3: -World War II the chief Allied powers were Great Britain, France (except during the German occupation, 1940–44), the Soviet Union (after its entry in June 1941), the United States (after its entry on December 8, 1941), and China.
