Concept note-1: -The members of the League recognize that the maintenance of peace requires the reduction of national armaments to the lowest point consistent with national safety and the enforcement by common action of international obligations.

Concept note-2: -The conference was a response to the militarisation of global powers during and after the First World War. Aimed towards a global reduction in arms, the conference was organised and campaigned for by the League of Nations with the main objective to avoid another world war.

Concept note-3: -To aid the process of disarmament the League of Nations held a disarmament conference in Geneva, Switzerland. The Disarmament Conference sought to reduce a nations stockpiles of offensive weapons and ensure the independence of many countries.

Concept note-4: -Summary. Sixty countries sent delegates to the Disarmament Conference that convened in Geneva in February 1932 to consider reductions in armaments, with particular emphasis on offensive weapons.

Concept note-5: -Wilson also hoped that the League would persuade the nations to agree to disarmament – to put down their weapons. That would make war impossible. Finally, Wilson thought that the League of Nations could enforce the Treaty of Versailles, and persuade countries to keep the promises they had made.
