Concept note-1: -Annexation is the process of bringing property into the City limits. It is one of the primary means by which cities grow. Cities annex territory to provide urbanizing areas with municipal services and to exercise regulatory authority necessary to protect public health and safety.

Concept note-2: -Annexation is the incorporation of one territory into the territory of another. This is usually done by conquest or military invasion. However, sometimes, annexations are peaceful.

Concept note-3: -One of history’s most famous examples of annexation was the German occupation of parts of Czechoslovakia in 1938, which became one of the causes of World War II.

Concept note-4: -Word forms: annexes, annexing, annexedpronunciation note: The verb is pronounced (ænɛks ). The noun is pronounced (ænɛks ). transitive verb. If a country annexes another country or an area of land, it seizes it and takes control of it.
