EXPLANATIONS BELOW

Concept note-1: -Emilio Aguinaldo y Famy was born into the local elite of Cavite on the Island of Luzon in the Philippines.

Concept note-2: -Emilio Aguinaldo led a revolutionary movement against the Spanish colonial government in the Philippines. He cooperated with the U.S. during the Spanish-American War but subsequently broke with the U.S. and led a guerrilla campaign against U.S. authorities during the Philippine-American War.

Concept note-3: -Preparations for an attack were made amidst increasing signs of opposition from Filipino insurrectos led by Emilio Aguinaldo.

Concept note-4: -On August 24, 1896, Bonifacio called Katipunan members to a mass gathering in Caloocan, where the group decided to start a nationwide armed revolution against Spain.
