Concept note-1: -A dependent territory, dependent area, or dependency (sometimes referred as an external territory) is a territory that does not possess full political independence or sovereignty as a sovereign state, yet remains politically outside the controlling state’s integral area.
Concept note-2: -To colonize is to settle in, and take control of, land outside your own borders. Usually, a large, powerful country colonizes a territory or area that’s much less powerful.
