Concept note-1: -isolationism Add to list Share. A nation practicing isolationism stays out of relations with other countries and concentrates on its own business at home. The United States tried to maintain a policy of isolationism-staying out of other countries’ politics-until World War I and even beyond.

Concept note-2: -isolationism, national policy of avoiding political or economic entanglements with other countries.

Concept note-3: -Internationalist | (n.) A person who believes in a national policy or doctrine that seeks to increase cooperation across national borders. Isolationist | (n.) A person who believes in a national policy of avoiding political or economic involvement (e.g., international agreements, treaties) with other countries.

Concept note-4: -Supporters of neutrality, called “isolationists” by their critics, argued that America should avoid entangling itself in European wars. “Internationalists” rejected the idea that the United States could remain aloof from Europe and held that the nation should aid countries threatened with aggression.

Concept note-5: -Isolationism-Isolationism is defined as a national policy of abstaining from political or economic relations with other countries. Unilateralism-undertaken or done by or on behalf of one side, party, or faction: not mutual.
