Concept note-1: -Sanford Ballard Dole, (born April 23, 1844, Honolulu, Hawaiian Islands [U.S.]-died June 9, 1926, Honolulu), first president of the Republic of Hawaii (1894–1900), and first governor of the Territory of Hawaii (1900–03) after it was annexed by the United States.
