Concept note-1: -The most famous of all the units fighting in Cuba, the “Rough Riders ” was the name given to the First U.S. Volunteer Cavalry under the leadership of Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt resigned his position as Assistant Secretary of the Navy in May 1898 to join the volunteer cavalry.

Concept note-2: -the Rough Rider: Hero of the Spanish American War. Among Theodore Roosevelt’s many lifetime accomplishments, few capture the imagination as easily as his military service as a “Rough Rider” during the Spanish-American War.

Concept note-3: -Theodore Roosevelt Jr. (/ˈroʊzəvɛlt/ ROH-zə-velt; October 27, 1858 – January 6, 1919), often referred to as Teddy or by his initials, T. R., was an American politician, statesman, soldier, conservationist, naturalist, historian, and writer who served as the 26th president of the United States from 1901 to 1909.
