Concept note-1: -This book documents Japanese atrocities in World War II, including cannibalism, the slaughter and starvation of prisoners of war, rape and enforced prostitution, the murder of noncombatants, and biological warfare experiments.

Concept note-2: -War crimes were committed including mass rape, looting, arson, the killing of civilians and prisoners of war.

Concept note-3: -On November 4, 1948, Webb announced that all of the defendants had been found guilty. Seven were sentenced to death, sixteen to life terms, two to lesser terms, two had died during the trials and one had been found insane.
