Concept note-1: -China’s invasion of Manchuria was its first step toward dominating Japan. After months of fighting in the Battle of Britain, Winston Churchill asked for the United States’ assistance, and the U.S. agreed to offer supplies. Ignoring their non-aggression pact, Hitler invaded the Soviet Union.
Concept note-2: -Seeking raw materials to fuel its growing industries, Japan invaded the Chinese province of Manchuria in 1931. By 1937 Japan controlled large sections of China, and war crimes against the Chinese became commonplace.
Concept note-3: -It dominated the northern cities of China, controlled the puppet state of Manchuria, administered Taiwan, and ruled the prosperous southern port cities. Japan had possession of roughly 25% of China’s enormous territory and more than a third of its entire population.
