Concept note-1: -Republican economic policies strongly favored the interests of northern industrialists. Gilded age reformers feared that with lower-class groups seeking to use government to advance their own interests democracy was becoming a threat to individual liberty and to the rights of property.

Concept note-2: -To this end, they advocate in favor of laissez-faire economics, limited government, free markets, tax cuts, reduced government spending, privatization, and the reduction of government run welfare programs in favor of private-sector nonprofits and encouraging personal responsibility.

Concept note-3: -Democratic-Republicans favored keeping the U.S. economy based on agriculture and said that the U.S. should serve as the agricultural provider for the rest of the world.

Concept note-4: -Fiscal conservatives advocate tax cuts, reduced government spending, free markets, deregulation, privatization, free trade, and minimal government debt. Fiscal conservatism follows the same philosophical outlook of classical liberalism.
