Concept note-1: -In September 1918, Pershing successfully led American and French forces in an offensive against the German line in the Saint-Mihiel salient. This victory proved the competency and quality of the American troops and was followed by the final offensive of the war, Meuse-Argonne.

Concept note-2: -On June 13, 1917, a little more than two months after the United States entered World War I, Gen. John J. Although not the first Americans to arrive, Pershing’s presence served as an important symbol to the British and French.

Concept note-3: -The U.S. made its major contributions in terms of supplies, raw material, and money, starting in 1917. American soldiers under General of the Armies John Pershing, Commander-in-Chief of the American Expeditionary Force (AEF), arrived at the rate of 10, 000 men a day on the Western Front in the summer of 1918.

Concept note-4: -The outbreak of the First World War in 1914 was due to a combination of causes which were both long-term and short-term: alliances, militarism, imperialism, nationalism, and the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand.
