Concept note-1: -Germany was given two months to surrender all prohibited war material. Disarmament began under the Inter-Allied Military Control Commission on 10 January 1920. The Allies created a list of war material that included flamethrowers, shells, rifles, grenades, armored cars, artillery, fuses and detonators.
Concept note-2: -Terms of the Treaty of Versailles The treaty forced Germany to disarm, to make territorial concessions, and to pay reparations to the Allied powers in the staggering amount of $5 billion.
Concept note-3: -Germany is a member of the Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Initiative (NPDI), a group of non-nuclear weapon states dedicated to disarmament, nonproliferation and peaceful nuclear activities as outlined in the NPT and the 2010 NPT Review Conference.
Concept note-4: -How did Hitler react to the World Disarmament Conference? Hitler demonstrated his disdain for the League of Nations and the Versailles settlement by walking out of the World Disarmament Conference in 1933.
Concept note-5: -Following the ratification of the Treaty of Versailles, firm restrictions were placed on the German military, most notably, the entire army was restricted to just 100, 000 men, while the navy was reduced to just 15, 000 men.
