How did the development of the atomic bomb impact America’s economy during and after World War II?

Concept note-1: -“The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki ended World War II. There can be no doubt of that. While they brought death and destruction on a horrifying scale, they averted even greater losses – American, English, and Japanese”.

Concept note-2: -Economic loss For example, a survey conducted by the City of Hiroshima revealed that 70, 147 out of a total 76, 327 buildings including houses, stores, factories, and schools had been totally or partially incinerated or destroyed.

Concept note-3: -The development of the atomic bomb caused friction between the Soviet Union and the United States. The US had hoped that the atomic bomb would be a strong negotiating card to use with the Soviet Union. It had more significant potential.

Concept note-4: -The atomic bomb changed the global power equation significantly. US became a military superpower along with the USSR. The rivalry between the two superpowers led to the Cold War, which in turn led to the nuclear arms race.
