Concept note-1: -The Allies, or the Entente powers, were an international military coalition of countries led by the United Kingdom, France, Russia, Italy, Japan, and the United States against the Central Powers of Germany, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire, Bulgaria during the First World War (1914–1918).

Concept note-2: -Triple Entente, association between Great Britain, France, and Russia, the nucleus of the Allied Powers in World War I.

Concept note-3: -The Triple Entente was the name given to the alliance (partnership) between Russia, France, and Britain, during World War I. These countries were also known as the Allies, and were fighting against Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Turkish Ottoman Empire.

Concept note-4: -They became known as the Axis and Allied Powers. The major Allied Powers were Britain, France, Russia, and the United States. The Allies formed mostly as a defense against the attacks of the Axis Powers.
