Concept note-1: -Baby boomers, often shortened to boomers, are the demographic cohort following the Silent Generation and preceding Generation X. The generation is often defined as people born from 1946 to 1964, during the mid-20th century baby boom .

Concept note-2: -According to Beresford Research, baby boomers are anyone born between 1946 and 1964. Baby boomers are the generation of people born after World War II when the birth rate spiked.

Concept note-3: -Baby boomers were named for an uptick in the post-WWII birth rate. At the end of 1946, the first year of the baby boom, there were approximately 2.4 million baby boomers. In 1964, the last year of the baby boom, there were nearly 72.5 million baby boomers.

Concept note-4: -This generation, made up of men and women who followed in the footsteps of America’s Silent Generation (born between the early 1920s and about 1942), are known for economic and societal impacts that changed American landscapes as well as American values.

Concept note-5: -The United States began to draft baby boomers into the Vietnam War in the late ‘60s. The New York Times reports that 40% of males in the baby boomer generation served in the war. It’s estimated that 47, 434 American fighters were killed during Vietnam.
