Concept note-1: -In May 1917, General John Joseph “Black Jack” Pershing was designated the supreme commander of the American army in France, and the American Expeditionary Forces (AEF) were created.

Concept note-3: -Pershing was the Commander of the American Expeditionary Force in World War I and led the United States, along with our Allies, to victory in that war. His contribution to American military preparedness in the future was also very significant.
