Concept note-1: -Answer and Explanation: Germany surrendered in 1918, and one major reason was because the German people were starving to death throughout much of the country’s cities by the winter of 1917-1918. The British navy had blocked Germany’s ports, thus stopping the import of food to its cities.
Concept note-2: -As the most important treaty of World War I, it ended the state of war between Germany and most of the Allied Powers. It was signed in the Palace of Versailles, exactly five years after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, which led to the war.
Concept note-3: -The four representatives of the principle allied powers were at the table: Clémenceau for France, Wilson for the USA, Lloyd George for Great Britain, and Orlando for Italy. The German delegation was composed of Müller, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and a jurist, one Doctor Bell.
Concept note-4: -The Treaty of Versailles was signed by Germany and the Allied Nations on June 28, 1919, formally ending World War One. The terms of the treaty required that Germany pay financial reparations, disarm, lose territory, and give up all of its overseas colonies.
