EXPLANATIONS BELOW

Concept note-1: -The plan provided for the reorganization of the Reichsbank and for an initial loan of 800 million marks to Germany. The Dawes Plan seemed to work so well that by 1929 it was believed that the stringent controls over Germany could be removed and total reparations fixed. This was done by the Young Plan.

Concept note-2: -Headed by Charles G. Dawes (Chicago banker, former Director of the Bureau of the Budget, and future Vice President), the committee presented its proposal in April 1924.

Concept note-3: -Germany would be loaned about $200 million, primarily through Wall Street bond issues in the United States.

Concept note-4: -The Dawes Plan was a report on German reparations for World War I drafted by a committee of experts led by American financier Charles G. Dawes that was accepted by the Allies and by Germany on August 16, 1924.

Concept note-5: -This pushed the country into a state of hyperinflation. So, the United States of America intervened and introduced the Dawes Plan-to reorganise the Reichsbank and rework the terms of reparation.
