Concept note-1: -After much negotiation, the following outcomes of the Yalta Conference emerged: Unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany, the division of Germany and Berlin into four occupational zones controlled by the United States, Great Britain, France and the Soviet Union.
Concept note-2: -The end of the war came to be remembered as “zero hour, ” a low point from which virtually everything had to be rebuilt anew from the ground up. For purposes of occupation, the Americans, British, French, and Soviets divided Germany into four zones.
Concept note-3: -After World War II, defeated Germany was divided into Soviet, American, British and French zones of occupation. The city of Berlin, though technically part of the Soviet zone, was also split, with the Soviets taking the eastern part of the city.
