Concept note-1: -Savannah, Brunswick played an important role in Liberty ship construction. During World War II, 173 Liberty ships were launched at Savannah and Brunswick.

Concept note-2: -SAVANNAH & BRUNSWICK SHIPYARDS bombers the port cities of Savannah and Brunswick manufactured 180 “Liberty Ships”. These US naval ships helped the US win World War II, and they also provided thousands of jobs for Georgia citizens along the coast.

Concept note-3: -THE SOUTHEASTERN SHIPYARD WAS AN OUTGROWTH OF ALL OF THE PRESSURE TO PRODUCE CARGO SHIPS FOR WORLD WAR II. AND SAVANNAH BEING A NATURAL PORT, A SHIPYARD. THE LIBERTY SHIP IS WHAT WAS PRIMARILY PRODUCED AT THE SOUTHEASTERN SHIPYARD.

Concept note-4: -Located along the Savannah River off what is now President Street Extension, the shipyard was formed in 1941 to build Liberty ships exclusively for the U.S. Navy.

Concept note-5: -Liberty ships were a class of cargo ship built in the United States during World War II under the Emergency Shipbuilding Program. Though British in concept, the design was adopted by the United States for its simple, low-cost construction.
