What was the impact of the Battles of Coral Sea and Midway?

EXPLANATIONS BELOW

Concept note-1: -In the end the battle was a draw, but two things made it an important battle. It stopped the Japanese from invading Port Moresby and threatening Australia. It was also the first sea battle in history when neither opposing sides’ ships sighted or fired directly upon the other.

Concept note-2: -The battle was significant for two main reasons: it was the first time in World War 2 that the Japanese experienced failure in a major operation; and. the battle stopped the Japanese sea-borne invasion of Port Moresby.

Concept note-3: -Together with the Battle of Guadalcanal, the Battle of Midway ended the threat of further Japanese invasion in the Pacific.

Concept note-4: -This critical US victory stopped the growth of Japan in the Pacific and put the United States in a position to begin shrinking the Japanese empire through a years-long series of island-hopping invasions and several even larger naval battles.
