EXPLANATIONS BELOW

Concept note-1: -The German army was restricted to 100, 000 men; the general staff was eliminated; the manufacture of armoured cars, tanks, submarines, airplanes, and poison gas was forbidden; and only a small number of specified factories could make weapons or munitions.

Concept note-2: -Treaty of Versailles Terms Germany and the other defeated powers-Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and Turkey-were not represented at the Paris Peace Conference.

Concept note-3: -China was the only country to send delegates to the Paris Peace Conference, but to have none sign the Treaty of Versailles. This was because Article 156 in the treaty handed the administration of Germany’s overseas territories in China to Japan.

Concept note-4: -Because of all of the ambiguities involving the war reparations, an exact monetary figure owed by the Germans to the Allies was never included in the Treaty of Versailles.
