Concept note-1: -In May 1917, General John Joseph “Black Jack” Pershing was designated the supreme commander of the American army in France, and the American Expeditionary Forces (AEF) were created.

Concept note-2: -General John J. Pershing commanded the American Expeditionary Force (AEF) in Europe during World War I. He became a master of military tactics through his training at the United States Military Academy and his teaching at West Point.

Concept note-3: -The American Expeditionary Forces (A. E. F.) was a formation of the United States Armed Forces on the Western Front during World War I. The A. E. F. was established on July 5, 1917, in France under the command of then-Major General John J. Pershing.

Concept note-4: -Pershing was the Commander of the American Expeditionary Force in World War I and led the United States, along with our Allies, to victory in that war. His contribution to American military preparedness in the future was also very significant.
