EXPLANATIONS BELOW

Concept note-1: -Although US President Woodrow Wilson was an enthusiastic proponent of the League, the United States did not officially join the League of Nations due to opposition from isolationists in Congress.

Concept note-2: -In 1919 the Senate rejected the Treaty of Versailles, which formally ended World War I, in part because President Woodrow Wilson had failed to take senators’ objections to the agreement into consideration. They have made the French treaty subject to the authority of the League, which is not to be tolerated.

Concept note-3: -Congress did not ratify the treaty, and the United States refused to take part in the League of Nations. Isolationists in Congress feared it would draw the United Sates into international affairs unnecessarily.

Concept note-4: -American absence defanged the League, making it unable to effectively enforce its decisions, as without America’s military presence the League lost the ability to create a formidable standing army, and so none was established.

Concept note-5: -With the League of Nations, Woodrow Wilson will help ensure that the world will live in peace. If all the nations of the world work together, then they will have no reason to fight again. The League of Nations and the Treaty of Versailles will put an end to this ugly and terrible war.
