EXPLANATIONS BELOW

Concept note-1: -The League did not have military powers and this acted as a challenge when dealing with hostile countries. Sanctions were not applied properly since the member states did not work together and formed separate pact with aggressive countries, thereby making the presence of the League irrelevant.

Concept note-2: -Despite Wilson’s efforts to establish and promote the League, for which he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in October 1919, the United States never joined.

Concept note-3: -The international relations of member countries conflicted with the League’s requirements for collective security. The League didn’t have its own armed forces and depended on members to act, but none of the member countries were ready for another war and didn’t want to provide military support.
