Concept note-1: -The Big Three were the three main victorious countries after World War One. Sometimes they are referred to as the Allied Powers, sometimes the victors and sometimes the Big Three. They include Britain, France and the United States of America.

Concept note-2: -In World War II, the three great Allied powers-Great Britain, the United States, and the Soviet Union-formed a Grand Alliance that was the key to victory. But the alliance partners did not share common political aims, and did not always agree on how the war should be fought.

Concept note-3: -During the conflict, Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire (the Central Powers) fought against Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Canada, Japan and the United States (the Allied Powers).

Concept note-4: -It was the first of the World War II conferences of the “Big Three” Allied leaders (the Soviet Union, the United States, and the United Kingdom) and closely followed the Cairo Conference, which had taken place on 22–26 November 1943, and preceded the 1945 Yalta and Potsdam conferences.

Concept note-5: -Triple Entente, association between Great Britain, France, and Russia, the nucleus of the Allied Powers in World War I.
