EXPLANATIONS BELOW

Concept note-1: -On Nov. 10, the Germans received word that Kaiser Wilhelm II had abdicated and instructions from the new government that they should sign the armistice. At 5 a.m. on Nov. 11, the armistice was agreed upon.

Concept note-2: -German Armistice, Nov. Germany was to surrender 5, 000 pieces of light and heavy artillery, 25, 000 machine guns, 3, 000 minenwerfers, 1, 700 airplanes, 5, 000 locomotives, 150, 000 railroad cars, and 5, 000 motor lorries. All these were to be in perfect condition.

Concept note-3: -Germany signed an armistice agreement with the Allies on November 11, 1918.

Concept note-4: -The Armistice was the ceasefire that ended hostilities between the Allies and Germany on the 11th of November 1918. The Armistice did not end the First World War itself, but it was the agreement which stopped the fighting on the Western Front while the terms of the permanent peace were discussed.

Concept note-5: -The truce, or Armistice, would start on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, November 1918. The Armistice was signed at 5:00 a.m. by Marshal of France Ferdinand Foch, along with other Allies and Germany, inside of Foch’s private railway car at Compagnie, France.
