Concept note-1: -Although US President Woodrow Wilson was an enthusiastic proponent of the League, the United States did not officially join the League of Nations due to opposition from isolationists in Congress.

Concept note-2: -President Woodrow Wilson was the primary architect of the League of Nations, an international peacekeeping organization that was the centerpiece of the Treaty of Versailles. The Senate rejected the treaty for ratification, and the United States never joined the League of Nations.

Concept note-3: -In the face of Wilson’s continued unwillingness to negotiate, the Senate on November 19, 1919, for the first time in its history, rejected a peace treaty.
