EXPLANATIONS BELOW

Concept note-1: -The Senate has, at times, rejected treaties when its members felt their concerns were not adequately addressed. In 1919 the Senate rejected the Treaty of Versailles, which formally ended World War I, in part because President Woodrow Wilson had failed to take senators’ objections to the agreement into consideration.

Concept note-2: -Answer and Explanation: Many Americans opposed the Treaty of Versailles because of the Covenant of the League of Nations, which sought to establish and international governing organization in hopes of preventing future wars.

Concept note-3: -The United States never ratified the Versailles treaty and made a separate peace treaty with Germany.

Concept note-4: -Wilson desired to create a system that would keep future wars from happening, as well as promoting a U.S. vision of democracy and peace. He believed that the best way to accomplish this goal was through the creation of an international organization called the League of Nations.
