EXPLANATIONS BELOW
Concept note-1: -Imperialism is the state policy, practice, or advocacy of extending power and dominion, especially by direct territorial acquisition or by gaining political and economic control of other territories and peoples.
Concept note-2: -There were technologies, ideas, and beliefs that gave Europeans, and the inhabitants of a few other countries, a motive and justification for constructing empires. Many of these were new, and certainly their combination was new, and so we call this a “New Imperialism".
Concept note-3: -1. The New Imperialism was a tremendous explosion of territorial conquest in which the imperial powers used economic and technological means to reorganize dependent regions and bring them into the world economy as suppliers of foodstuffs and raw materials and as consumers of industrial products.
Concept note-4: -US military interventionism in the Middle East, South-East Asia, and Latin America is often cited as modern-day imperialism. Whereas empires like the Roman Empire aimed to expand their influence through invasion, the US often used diplomacy, coups, and proxy wars, without expanding its official territorial boundaries.
