What does nationalism mean?

Concept note-1: -Nationalism is an ideology that emphasizes loyalty, devotion, or allegiance to a nation or nation-state and holds that such obligations outweigh other individual or group interests.

Concept note-2: -Nationalism means a feeling of pride and belongingness towards one’s nation. It is a feeling that unites people and drives them to fight for a common goal.

Concept note-3: -It holds that each nation should govern itself, free from outside interference (self-determination), that a nation is a natural and ideal basis for a polity, and that the nation is the only rightful source of political power.

Concept note-4: -Patriotism is the feeling of love, devotion, and sense of attachment to one’s country. This attachment can be a combination of many different feelings, language relating to one’s own homeland, including ethnic, cultural, political or historical aspects.

Concept note-5: -Nationalism is a feeling of belongingness to one nation. It is a feeling of oneness or togetherness. It is a result of shared common culture, land or history.
